In the nineties, silk boxers became rather common to find in many stores, but they seem to have faded from popularity. I remember having a few pairs myself. Many men wore them as everyday wear, and seemed to be very popular underneath dress slacks and suits. this was, of course in the days when very loose, billowy, pleated dress pants were popular (think what David Duchoveny wore in the X-files episodes)
